OPI Care to Danse? & Pirouette My Whistle

I don't have to work today and I am SO happy. I had cleaning on my list but maybe I'll save that for tomorrow =) Lounging on the couch in my pj's seems like the best option right now lol.

Early last week, I got the itch to buy a few of the OPI NYC Ballet polishes while I was browsing eBay in search of RBL's Bella. I stumbled across the whole collection for under $45 and pounced. Sometimes the 'bay just wins out over other e-tailers when it comes to shipping speed.

After much contemplation, I chose Care to Danse? and Pirouette My Whistle. After putting the combo on the first time, I wasn't a fan of how obvious the silver glitter was. I'm not sure if it was the light at the time or what. I removed it and started over again, this time as a jelly sandwich. I L.O.V.E it!

Although, after riding the struggle bus for quite some time, I realized any streaking was user error. I have ridges on my thumbs and left ring finger, as well as a mussed up nail bed on my right index finger. I had a...run in with a door in my childhood, oops.

I can't wait to try out the other shades =)

This is 2 coats of Care to Danse with a coat of Pirouette My Whistle and then another of Care to Danse, with SV.

Brava, OPI, brava. I will say that in this situation, I think the mega giant brush is a benefit. I love how soft and incredibly feminine this turned out. Seriously digging it!

Do you have any NYC Ballet Shades? Which is your favourite? I'm looking forward to giving Barre My Soul a go.

  1. I love Barre My Soul, so I also really love this. It's very pretty.

I am so jealous you're on break. Though you started way earlier after the new year than I did. My break isn't until March 22 (or at least that's when I fly home; officially starts the 23). Siiiiiiiiiiiigh. Enjoy it!

It's much needed. I'm over this semester already (I think this is a record). Just a little while longer, hang in there! =)

  2. I cannot keep any of the names straight from this collection, but I have the lavender one, the grey one and the glitter.

I just wore the glitter for the first time last week, sandwiched between two coats of Essie Waltz and I LOVED it. Way more than I expected to. I'm not really a glitter person, but I've found that the glitter sandwich mani works for me.

    1. hahahahah, I know what you mean!

Oh totally. I think the silver glitter by itself is a bit too much, but sandwiched under another coat of polish? Perfect.

  5. Pirouette My Whistle is my favorite glitter polish ever. I can't keep the names straight either, I have the grey and white ones. Wish I had picked up all, but I just found a display in a small hair salon and had no idea what I was buying, and I'm so glad I got some. I wore Cult Nails Disciplined with this glitter on top for a Christmas holiday snowstorm mani - LOVED IT!! It was perfect.
